Course Description

World History is a one-year course dealing with the knowledge of key events, issues, movements, and people associated with the following eras: The beginnings of human society, Early Civilizations, Classical Traditions, World Faiths, and Extensive Empires, Expanding Zones of Change and Encounter, the Age of Revolutions, and the Twentieth Century. This course gives students an analytical perspective of World Geography and History. Emphasis is placed on critical reading, thinking, and writing. It is intended to not only cover the history of world events, but to prepare students for upper division courses in AP European History, American History, US Government and Economics.
