Summer School Classes

Reading/English Review*
8:00-10:00 or 10:30-12:30 3 Weeks No Credit

Course Description – This course is designed to strengthen the student’s skills in reading and
language. The reading portion will focus on improving vocabulary and comprehension as well as on building critical thinking skills. The writing component, which will include a review of grammar and sentence structure, will help the student to develop clarity of expression.

Math Review*
8:00-10:00 or 10:30-12:30 3 Weeks No Credit

Course Description – This course provides the student with a review of basic math operations, integers, fractions, decimals, percents and algebra content- i.e., operations on integers: solving linear equations and exponents.


General Information:

Attendance: Attendance is mandatory for all students who were notified on the acceptance letter if attendance was mandatory. Students are expected to attend every class. Parent should notify the school if illness necessitates the student’s absence. No vacations are allowed during the summer school session. Students who miss more than two classes will jeopardize their acceptance at San Gabriel Mission High School.

Dress Code: Students should be appropriately dressed. Skirts, walking shorts, jeans, tennis shoes may be worn and be no more than three inches from the crease at the back of the knee. No sandals, or flip flops are accepted. The appropriateness of the dress is at the discretion of the summer school principal.

Snacks: Snacks and cold drinks will be available for purchase from the vending machines each day. Students are allowed to bring snacks from home if they wish to do so.

Registration: The completed registration form and medical form may be returned or mailed to the school with the course tuition no later than June 3, 2013. Cash, check, money order or credit cards are accepted. If you choose to pay by credit card, you must call Mrs. Sosa in the business office at 
626- 282-3181 x 107. All registration/medical forms can be mailed or brought to school.

Tuition: 1 class/2 hours $275
    2 classes/4 hours $350
