Parents, we have great news! We have contracted with a new yearbook company and will be going forward with our yearbook this year. More great news…the price of the yearbook will be $100. If you gave a deposit with a check the night of the mandatory meeting, please know that it will be deposited on Monday. If for whatever reason you need to reissue a replacement check please contact Mrs. Sosa by Monday afternoon.
Halloween Costumes are permitted at school for our Halloween activities on October 31st however there are very specific guidelines that were sent home this week and can also be found on the website. Please read these Halloween costume guidelines with your daughter because if for any reason we find your daughter’s attire in violation of these guidelines or otherwise deemed inappropriate we will call you to bring her uniform. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Join us in celebrating All Saints Day with liturgy in the Chapel of the Annunciation on November 1st at 8:30am. Please remind your daughter this is a formal uniform day and there will be a uniform check. Thank you.
Was your daughter inspired by the Invisible Children Presentation on Wednesday? Well, we have a Social Justice and Advocacy Retreat to Washington DC that deals with the cause of Invisible Children. Please see the SGMHS website and talk with your daughter about the time and financial commitments for this meaningful trip. Please note that all other SGMHS payments need to be up to date to partake in this trip. If you have further questions please contact Ms. Collier or Ms. Cagigas. Deposits may be made with credit card or check only.
JAM for LIFE club is sponsoring a baby items drive next week. New or gently used baby items will be donated to a local pregnancy help center. Monetary donations are also accepted.
Attention Freshmen parents: The class officers have been collecting $2 from each student for the purchase of custom pompoms- this is a Mission tradition. About half of the freshmen need to pay up, still. It is only $2 and we need it in by Monday.
Seniors there are 35 days until CSU and UC apps are due. Ms. Sallo and Ms. Tran Trieu will be in the computer lab afterschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays to help with college applications. Good luck!
Come out and join us on November 11th Veterans Day, for our first Flea Market of the year. Flea Market is held in our school parking lot from 8am to 3pm. If you would like to be a vendor please contact Ms. Olmos at ext 101. The price for your 10x10 space is $40. There will be food and music as well. We hope this event continues to grow. San Gabriel Mission’s GAA is proud to present Homecoming 2012 “Hollywood Nights” which will be held at Santa Anita Race Track on Friday, November 16, 2012. The price to attend for a single bid is $55 and for a couple is $110. The first bid is due on November 2nd. If you are brining a date, their bid is due on November 9, 2012. All Homecoming paper work will be available from Mrs. Overley on Tuesday, October 30th. Hope to see you at Homecoming.
