Dominican Day 2012!!!

Dominican Day is here Wednesday, February 8, celebrating our MSJ Dominican foundress Mother Maria Pia Backes O.P., the foundress of the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose!

We start our day in prayer with Dominican Sister Carolyn McCormick O.P., President of Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, who will preach on the vision and charism of the MSJ Dominican Sisters.  Then we will preach the good news about Mission by walking our historic Mission District for our walk-a-thon!  Finally, we will enjoy each others company while eating from gourmet food trucks, jousting on fun inflatables, and beating the students in our annual students vs. faculty kick ball game!

Please see the attached flyer that was also sent home, so your daughter knows what to expect and what to bring on Dominican Day!

Sponsorship money is due to Ms. Sosa in the business office and permission slips are due to Ms. Olmos in room 123 both due on Tuesday, February 7.  Dominican Day permission slips are required for participation in our walk-a-thon and carnival.  This is a school day starting at 7:55am and attendance will be taken; dismissal is at 2pm.

If you daughter did not earn or purchase a Dominican Day tee-shirt she must be in GREEN Mission tee shirt/sweatshirt and jeans!  All Parents/guardians are welcome to join in the festivities or to volunteer your time, but please contact Ms. Olmos at 626.282.3181ext101 or colmos@sgmhs.org.
