SGMHS Weekly Phone Call February 3, 2012

Good Evening Mission Families!  This is Ms. Cagigas with your weekly announcements.

Progress Report #1 is due today so please check your Aeries accounts for details on your daughter’s grades and contact your daughter’s teacher for further questions.


School hours on Monday, February 6 will be 8AM – 12PM.  Freshman, sophomore and juniors need their calculators and seniors bring your parents’ taxes for our FAFSA workshop as well as their CAL GRANT forms.


Dominican Day is here Wednesday, February 8, celebrating our MSJ Dominican foundress Mother Pia!  Sponsorship money is due to Ms. Sosa and permission slips which went out today are also due to Ms. Olmos in room 123 both on Tuesday, February 7.  Dominican Day permission slips are required for participation in our walk-a-thon and carnival.  This is a school day starting at 7:55am and attendance will be taken; dismissal is at 2pm.  If you daughter did not earn or purchase a Dominican Day tee-shirt she must be in GREEN Mission tee shirt/sweatshirt and jeans!  All Parents/guardians are welcome to join in the festivities or to volunteer your time, but please contact Ms. Olmos at ext. 101.


Come support the Mission soccer and basketball teams next week.  JV soccer will be playing their final game of the season against St. Genevieve on Monday, February 6th. Varsity soccer has their final home game vs. Sacred Heart on Wednesday, February 8 @ 3:15.  JV and Varsity basketball will be playing Holy Family away on Tuesday and the final home game for the season will be on Thursday, February 9th vs. Sacred Heart. Because next week is our Dominican Foundress day we will be honoring all senior players from Mission and Sacred Heart next week. Hope to see you at the games.
 
Swim team practice begins Tuesday, February 7th from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Any girls who missed the try-outs is asked to come February 7; this will be the last try out. All practices will be held at the Rosemead Aquatic Center next to Rosemead High School which is located on Mission Ave.


There are many new jobs available for Mission students. Any parent who has any questions please call Mrs. B at 626 308 2588. All jobs students can work up to 6 hours per week. The make 8.00 an hour, tax free. Students must be available to work after school and have their own transportation. Most jobs are in the Alhambra and Monterey Park Area.
