SGMHS welcomes the Class of 2015!

Freshmen Orientation 2011 started off with a blast! Sixty-five new Mission sisters from the class of 2015 began their high school journey. Many entered the school with anxiety but hopefulness in their eyes as they were greeted by the SGMHS student council, campus ministry, faculty and staff.

The day began with an address from Mission's principal, Mr. Jamie Collins, and the 2011-2012 ASB President, Ms. Michelle Nguyen. Following the addresses, the freshmen were briefed on the school's dominican charism, campus ministry's traditions, discipline and attendance. Next, the Girls Athletic Association (GAA) prepared a mini pep rally where the new students were challenged to compete in various athletic contests. To satisfy their athletic hungers, the new pioneers were treated to a delicious taco lunch and then made their way to presentations regarding academic counseling, athletics and activities. Finally, the class of 2015 finished the day with a school scavenger hunt exploring all the different corners of their new campus.

All in all, it was a fantastic and pioneering day for the class of 2015! Mission cannot wait for the new accomplishments and talents that are yet to come from this class and add them to the continued strength and empowerment of SGMHS. Go Pioneers!!
