Course Description
This course offers a survey of history from prehistoric events to restructuring the postwar world. A historical approach will be at the center of the course. The application of the themes of geography and an analysis of the cultural traits of civilizations will help students understand how people shape their world and how their world shapes them. Close attention is given to the development and requirement of civilization, Ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome, the Renaissance, Scientific Revolution, Enlightenment, Reformation, Industrial Revolution, WWI, WWII and the Cold War. This course is intended to cover the history of world events, and to prepare students for upper division courses in A.P. European History, American History, U.S. Government, and Economics.
