Description

Course Description:     Students will appreciate, comprehend, and apply knowledge of algebraic concepts such as expressions, operations,  equalities and inequalities. Emphasis is put on students’ ability to make observations, draw conclusions, and evaluate math application.  In this course, students will use their knowledge to look at the world critically and challenge the factors that lead to their data.     

Course Objectives/Learning Outcomes:

Students will be able to:

  • Apply order of operations
  • Solve multi-step equations 
  • Apply different algebraic properties 
  • Solve  radical numbers
  • Write and apply linear equations 
  • Apply ratios, proportions and percentages
  • Recognize how mathematics is embedded in their lives and apply concepts to real life situations

Create a chart using rulers and plotting points. Write a 10 sentence reflection answering: How did you organize your data and what are your observations/ conclusions? Attach your notes to the project. Make sure everything is neat and accurate. You must get the topic approved by me ahead of time.
