Description
IB Film is a one year (SL) or two-year (HL) course that fulfills the arts component of the International Baccalaureate diploma program. The Diploma Programme film course aims to develop students’ skills so that they become adept in both interpreting and making film texts. Through the study and analysis of film texts and exercises in film making, the Diploma Programme film course explores film history, theory and socio-economic background. The course develops students’ critical abilities, enabling them to appreciate the multiplicity of cultural and historical perspectives in film. To achieve an international understanding within the world of film, students are taught to consider film texts, theories and ideas from the points of view of different individuals, nations and cultures.

Super 8 Film is due, uploaded.
You will creating an actual film using a super8 camera and film. you will film the project as two different groups, and you will be given one cartridge of film (3.5 min long) to use to film the project. Each cartridge costs $88 so these are not to be wasted, and I suggest using every sec of film. You know when the cartridge is used up when the film says exposed when you look at it.
We will divide the project into 3 phases:
Part 1: Planning and film story (Week of 3/4)
Part 2: Filming (Week of 3/18)
Part 3: Editing (Week of 4/8)

Once you are done filming you are to put your film cartridge in the included shipping envelope to be sent in for processing and telecining. this process takes 2-3 weeks and they will send me a processed reel of film and a digital copy. You will edit the digital copy.
