Justin Adelmann enters his second year at San Gabriel Mission High School; first year as Girl’s Head Volleyball Coach. Coach Justin has coached volleyball at various levels: high school and club.
Coach Justin states, “ I look forward to rebuilding a program for the future that molds champions both on and off the court. I look forward to the ladies performance this season, it is a joy to see the young women you coach learn and apply skills and game strategy. However, it is a greater joy to see and experience their enthusiasm about what they have learned and its application during competition. This year looks promising with my junior varsity team transitioning to varsity and a core group of varsity starters from last season.”
During his early years, he played basketball, football, and volleyball [since third grade]. As a volleyball participant in high school (Cathedral, Los Angeles), he took part of teams that have won multiple league or CIF championship titles under the direction of Michael Godoy. In depth, Coach Justin has helped lead his team win Division IV CIF Championships in 2012 and 2013. He has also been part of the Del Rey League's First Team All-League in 2012 and 2013, as well as Division IV All-CIF in 2012 and 2013. Thus, he's no stranger to the work ethic required for developing competitive teams, athletes, and a winning program. While in high school he played for Club Wood Volleyball Club, under the direction of Deon Jones and Elliott Walker. After graduating from Cathedral, he attended California Baptist University (Riverside, CA). He now continues his education in Psychology at Glendale Community College.
Coach Justin then started coaching for Forza 1 West Volleyball Club (Pasadena, CA) as well as Cathedral High School. At Forza 1 he has coached the 15 Regional, 16 Regional, and 16 National teams. Under the direction of Michael Godoy in 2015, Coach Justin assisted Cathedral to a CIF Division III Quarterfinal birth and a Del Rey League Championship. In 2016 he helped his Junior Varsity team to a 14-3 record, and assisted Deon Jones direct Cathedral to a CIF Division III Championship birth.
In addition to a successful athletic career, Coach Justin has helped mentor many athletes who have gone on to play at the collegiate level (Graceland University, Coker College, Adrian College, and California State University, Long Beach), many of which he helped coach. Coach Justin is a student of the game of volleyball. He credits his playing and coaching ability to Deon Jones, Elliott Walker, Michael Godoy, Shawn Cui, Catherine Avila, and Megan Rush [many of which coached him in high school and club].
As Coach Justin is a mentor to many, he enjoys his time with family, playing beach volleyball, attending college sporting events, and practicing the Work of God.

“For me, it's about the way I carry myself and the way I treat other people. My relationship and how I feel about God and what He does for me, is something deeply personal. It's where I came from, my family, I was brought up in a religious household and that's very important to me.” –Beyoncé Knowles-Carter
