Barbara Yutronich Scholarship Winner
Yutronich winner 2009 webOver 25 years ago, a memorial scholarship was established in memory of Barbara Yutronich, a faculty member of San Gabriel Mission High School.  The criteria that Ms. Yutronich’s family has given include:  that the young lady is an incoming senior, someone who has distinguished herself as a person of care, concern and compassion.  This student has a positive attitude with a smile for everyone. 

This year’s Barbara Yutronich Scholarship recipient is Alyssa Castanon.

Zartman Scholarship Winners

Yutronich Winner 2009 The Zartman Scholarships were established in memory of Agnes and Mary Zartman parents of the Zartman children who attended San Gabriel Mission High School in the 60’s. 

 Two scholarships are awarded at our Spring Awards Ceremony to a  senior studying nursing and a senior studying business.

Arrianna Alarcon  will be majoring in Business Administration.  Arrianna is a role model to her little cousins and uses this as her motivation to become successful.  She hopes to one day, give back to her community like the Zartman’s.

Elizabeth Jauregui will be studying nursing.  Elizabeth  is looking forward to a new start in college  and assisting people who are ill.

Foundation of the Kiwanis Club of San Gabriel Scholarship Winners

Kiwanis Winner 2009

The Key Club was established just two years ago at San Gabriel Mission High School by the Kiwanis Club of San Gabriel.   It is one of the oldest and largest service programs for high school students.  What makes Key Club so successful is the fact that it is a student-led organization that teaches leadership through serving others. Members of the Kiwanis International family, Key Club members build themselves as they build their schools and communities.  For more information, go to http://www.keyclub.org.

Annually, the Kiwanis Club of San Gabriel offer a scholarship to well deserving seniors who have demonstrated service, leadership, and integrity to their school and community.  This year,  three San Gabriel Mission High School students were selected!  They are Julie Taing-valedictorian, Elise Bernal-salutatorian, and Katherine Tran-Key Club President.
