Athletics

San Gabriel Mission High School is a member of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), which is the main governing body in the state for athletics and also a member of the Horizon League, along with four other schools.  At Mission, being an athlete is a privilege, not a right, as in any other extracurricular activity.  In order to participate in athletics, a student must meet certain CIF and academic requirements

Students compete in six sports:

  • Volleyball
  • Cross-Country
  • Basketball
  • Soccer
  • Track & Field
  • Softball

GAA Boosters

The GAA Booster Club is open to all parents, teachers, and alumni of San Gabriel Mission High School and enrollment if free.  The GAA Booster Club is an important asset to our athletic program because it is the club’s goal to provide sports equipment and supplies beyond the school’s athletic budget.  Some fundraiser accomplishments are:  the purchase of needed equipment for the teams such as, new uniforms, a softball backstop, soccer training equipment, and a scoreboard that is located in the school’s auditorium.

 California Interscholastic Federation (CIF)

San Gabriel Mission High School is a member of the Horizon League and joins with Alverno, Bishop Conaty/Loretto, Holy Family, and Sacred heart of Jesus in good sportsman-like competition.  Sports include cross-country, volleyball, basketball, soccer, softball, and track & field.

 Girls Athletic Association (GAA)

GAA is an organization for everyone in the student body.  It promotes spirit at the sporting events and fosters responsibility and sportsmanship among the spectators and athletes.  Activities of the GAA include the Homecoming Dance, Pep Rallies, Sports Banquets, and support for the Booster Club fundraisers.
